I personally saw a reusable Swiffer style cloth at Dollarama an just picked one up the other day and then use a spray bottle to get the floor a little damp with a home made cleaner. I'm not as fancy as some people with the whole "Swiffer system" but it works for me.

The other day I found an old sock of my husband's with a hole in the heel, looked over at my swiffer & put it on - works perfect! I like having the top of the swiffer covered so as to dust the underneath of furniture & cabinets. For once, I'm looking forward to finding worn-out socks. lol.
ReplyDeleteI also use Zorbies (like Sham-wows), cut to fit as swiffer cloths; they do better for dry sweeping than mopping.
Old washrags work well, as do foldable cloth diapers - the extra absorbent pad in the middle makes a great mopper.
Homemade cleaners are far preferable, imo. I can change the scent at will, & I know what goes into the cleaner - vinegar & extracts, or an H2O2 solution. No unknown surficants or synthetic fragrance for me..
